The Ministry of Commerce announced today, Wednesday, the formation of a ministerial committee consisting of 6 departments, to set and establish a new pricing and structure for food prices.
Ministry spokesman Muhammad Hanoun told the official agency, followed by Mawazine News: “The Ministry of Commerce, in light of government directives to prepare pricing for basic foodstuffs, formed a ministerial committee consisting of 6 departments at the center of the ministry and food companies, to set a price formula for food prices.”
Hanoun added, “This will depend on the prices of materials on the global market and the costs of the land and sea transportation process, and work is continuing to finalize the price structure through auditing and coordination with the ministries of planning, agriculture and industry, so that the Ministry of Commerce committee will have all the information about the price structure before it, which will pave the way for stability after implementation.” in local market prices.
He stressed, “The supervisory agencies in the Ministry of Commerce, with the support of the security services, follow local market prices daily, prepare reports to the Prime Minister’s Office and to the relevant authorities, monitor any price increases, and take appropriate measures in light of them.”
