    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Yasser Watout, commented today, Sunday (February 11, 2024), on Iraq’s lack of knowledge of the timing of the American, Iranian, and Turkish bombing on Iraqi territory.
Wattot told "Baghdad Today" that, "Iraq certainly does not know the timing of the American, Iranian, and Turkish bombing on Iraqi territory. If it had known, it would have objected and prevented these operations. The government does not accept this violation, regardless of the reasons and pretexts."
He stated that "this is not known because these operations are conducted in complete secrecy within the security and military services, and certainly the Iraqi intelligence effort does not penetrate those services in order to know their plans and military movements, and this cannot be attributed to any of the intelligence and security services, as these operations are of a very secret nature, and it is difficult to Any devices must know their timings, even by countries with high security development.”
Iraq is exposed from time to time to attacks on sovereignty, represented by aerial bombardment or missiles on a number of areas, the most recent of which was by the Iranian side, which targeted a civilian headquarters that Tehran described at the time as a “Mossad headquarters,” while Turkish aircraft continue to penetrate Iraqi airspace under the pretext of pursuing members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. While American aircraft, according to specialists, continue on a daily basis to violate Iraq’s sovereignty, sometimes carrying out air strikes and sometimes merely for reconnaissance, without informing the Iraqi authorities.”
