Today, Sunday, the Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, directed the activation of the smart signals and radars project.
A statement from the Ministry received by Al-Maalouma stated, “Today, Al-Shammari chaired a meeting with the General Directorate of Traffic in the presence of the Undersecretary for Police Affairs and the Ministry’s advisors. He directed to activate the smart signals project and expedite the implementation of this project in addition to the highways.”
He continued, "The directive included forming a committee to study the highways that recorded high rates of accidents, especially on the days of the Arba'een visit and the million-dollar events."
Al-Shammari stressed, according to the statement, “the necessity of accelerating the completion of the external road sections that are under construction.” End 25
