    Today, Saturday, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities revealed more than 6 new projects that will be completed during the current year, while announcing the creation of 17 new strategic water projects.
    The Director General of the General Directorate of Water in the Ministry of Construction, Ammar Adel Al-Maliki, told the official agency, followed by Al-Eqtisad News, that “The General Directorate of Water affiliated with the Ministry of Construction has begun preparing a long-term or future plan targeting all areas of the governorates that suffer from water scarcity or lack of water.” Central stations or projects.
    Al-Maliki added, “The General Directorate of Water addressed all the governorate directorates through ongoing meetings to include the areas that suffer from water scarcity or to which water does not reach,” indicating that “there are projects designed that were old years ago and suffer from delay, in addition to population expansion and the creation of districts.” And new areas, which led to a significant shortage in water delivery to those areas.”
    He stressed that "the plan of the General Directorate of Water is to move towards central projects, as well as directing the directorates and governorates to submit a study on all the capacities of their regions to cover all areas that are not served or to which water does not reach, in order to connect them to the nearest complex or water project," indicating that "it will be completed." More than 6 projects during the current year.
    He continued, "The General Directorate of Water targeted all areas that suffer from water scarcity through a service distribution map that shows the percentage of services for each governorate, starting with the governorates that suffer from the most scarcity and giving them priority in projects as they are areas affected by water scarcity."
    He pointed out that “there are 17 new strategic projects for the year 2024 that have been submitted to the Ministry of Planning and are in the process of obtaining official approvals,” explaining that “the vision and philosophy in these projects will be new and different, as there is an interplay between current and old designs with approved technical specifications, as well as the new emerging decisions.” On behalf of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Water Committee headed by the Prime Minister.
    He continued by saying: “The General Directorate of Water’s plan is to develop more than 17 new projects according to the actual need and official approvals, given that the Ministry of Construction is committed to frameworks and laws specified by the Ministries of Planning or Finance.”
