    The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities is implementing 16 housing projects in the governorates that were lagging behind during the past period, revealing that it is in the process of referring eight of them to investment.
    The ministry’s official spokesman, Nabil Al-Saffar, said that the ministry owns 16 lagging housing projects that the ministry has resumed work on after it had been halted for financial, administrative, or technical reasons, in addition to 12 other projects that were sent to the Ministry of Planning to refer them to the governorates wishing to implement them in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Committee for Coordination. Between governorates.
    He added that there are four projects that were initiated this year, two in Anbar and one for each of Basra and Diwaniyah governorates, revealing that there are eight projects that have been referred as investment opportunities for the purpose of implementation, pointing out that the rest of the projects will be studied by the Ministry in order to determine the mechanism for their implementation.
    In the same context, Al-Saffar explained that his ministry is in the process of developing a clear mechanism to circulate it among all departments and ministries to ensure that investors implement the urban and rural housing standards approved during the year 2018 and to ensure that schools, kindergartens, health centers, civil defense, markets, shops, and infrastructure such as water, sewerage, and electricity are secured in exchange for the lands. Investment, so that the complexes provide integrated services for their residents instead of the state sponsoring them.
