Today, Saturday, the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee called on the government to oblige oil companies to employ 80% national workers.
Committee member Kazem Al-Touki told Al-Maalouma, “The number of foreign workers in oil companies is very large, especially in the oil fields.”
He stressed the need for "the government to oblige these companies to employ 80% of the Iraqi workforce, in addition to establishing a clear mechanism for this file, to end the issue of the large area that foreign workers have taken at the expense of the people of the country."
He explained, "This issue is one of the reasons for widespread unemployment in Iraq, noting that foreign workers cost Iraq a huge budget." Ended/25 h
