The Finance Committee of the House of Representatives revealed that employees’ salaries will be secured during this year.
Committee member Hussein Mounes told Al-Sabah: “Delaying the salaries of employees of some ministries is nothing more than an administrative procedure related to the work of the Ministry of Finance.” He added that “state employees’ salaries are secured during this year and there is no fear of that,” stressing that “delaying them for days from the specified date is just an administrative procedure.” For his part, economic expert Ziad Al-Zubaidi told Al-Sabah: “Delaying salaries is very normal and there is no need for some employees to worry.” He added that “such a thing happened during the spread of the Corona virus in all countries of the world, including Iraq, which affected oil sales and thus the lack of liquidity to distribute salaries among employees.”
Al-Zubaidi stressed that "the state is now able to overcome any ordeal to distribute employees' salaries among their beneficiaries," explaining that "there are oil, customs, and border crossing revenues that all enable the government to provide financial liquidity during the next stage."
