    Baghdad Today-Baghdad
Sources close to the axis of resistance in Iran revealed, on Sunday evening (July 28, 2024), that the military operations room that monitors the level of tension between the Lebanese Hezbollah and the Zionist entity has included among its options opening the occupied Syrian Golan front against the entity.
The sources told Baghdad Today, "If the Zionist entity launches a large-scale war on Lebanon, then opening the occupied Syrian Golan front is one of the options proposed by the military operations room of the resistance axis to launch a large-scale attack on the entity."
She added, "The military operations room of the resistance axis is closely monitoring the developments, as well as the efforts to calm the situation and the mediations that have entered the line between the interim Lebanese government and the United States of America."
Regarding whether all the armed factions in the region will participate alongside Hezbollah in the event of a large-scale war with Israel, the sources said: “This is certain, as we have not yet agreed to the entry of the Islamic resistance factions in Iraq into the direct confrontation line to support the Lebanese Hezbollah.”
She explained that "the Iraqi resistance factions have expressed their readiness and put all their strength to enter this war between the axis of resistance and the Zionist entity," stressing that "Hezbollah will not remain alone in this battle if it expands."
She continued: "The resistance in Yemen (Ansar Allah movement) will also be a great support in this war and in light of the progress it is making in attacking the Zionist entity."
In the same context, a leader in the Iraqi resistance who resides in Tehran told Baghdad Today, “Most of the factions wanted to participate and stand alongside the Lebanese Hezbollah on the northern front against the Zionist entity from the first moment, but the operations room decided that the time had not yet come to enter this battle.”
According to the leader, "until now, the rules of engagement are still under control, and if it gets out of control due to an adventure by the Zionist entity, it will be a large-scale war in which all military capabilities will be used, and we will not pay attention to American support for this entity that is killing children in Gaza."
The rocket attack attributed to Hezbollah has reignited tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, killing at least a dozen people in Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The rocket hit a crowded soccer stadium there on Saturday evening. Majdal Shams is home to an Arabic-speaking Druze population.
Daniel Hagari, the spokesman for the entity's army, described Hezbollah's statement that it was not involved in this incident as a lie, and stressed that "Hezbollah is behind this tragedy and must bear its consequences."
"We examined the remains of the rocket on the wall of the football field, and we can say that the Falaq 1 rocket carried 53 kilograms of explosives," Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said during a visit to the scene.
"Whoever launches such a missile at a residential area wants to kill civilians, wants to kill children," Halevi added.
According to the Israeli military, Israeli forces responded on Sunday evening, targeting "a number of Hezbollah targets inside Lebanon and southern Lebanon." These targets included "weapons depots and infrastructure."
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “Hezbollah will pay a heavy price [for its attack], a price it has never paid before.”
