The House of Representatives Services Committee called for investing in open lands and converting them into parks and green spaces that serve the population.
Member of the Services Committee, Alaa Sakr Al-Dalfi, said in an interview with the official newspaper, which was followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that the committee, during its periodic meetings in which it hosts the Mayor of Baghdad, the municipality’s representatives and the general managers, stressed the importance of investing in open lands and turning them into parks and green spaces that serve the population.
Al-Dalfi pointed out that citizens are in dire need of these spaces as recreational places that provide them with relaxation and escape from the pressures of daily life.
He added that the Services Committee prioritizes supporting these environmental projects that aim to improve air quality and reduce high temperatures, noting that providing green spaces is one of the necessary projects, and that Iraq is in dire need of allocating the necessary funds to implement these projects.
The MP pointed out that any investment in these projects will benefit citizens, especially since parks and green areas contribute to improving the mental and physical health of residents, indicating that the committee is continuing to follow up on the implementation of these vital projects to ensure their continuity and achieve the desired goals.
