    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
The Iraqi embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, issued new instructions today, Monday (September 30, 2024), to Iraqis and Lebanese displaced to Syria due to the security situation in Lebanon.
The embassy said in a statement received by "Baghdad Today", "We receive many phone calls from Lebanese brothers displaced to Syria due to the security situation. In this regard, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq would like to inform you that any Lebanese citizen holding a Lebanese passport can travel via Damascus International Airport or the Al-Bukamal/Al-Qaim border crossing by land without an entry visa."
She added, "A Lebanese citizen who has a car with Lebanese plates and wants to travel to Iraq with it is allowed to bring it in through the border crossing after completing the car entry procedures. Also, a Lebanese citizen who does not have a passport and wants to travel to Iraq must visit the Lebanese embassy in Damascus to issue a Lebanese passport (travel document) used to enter Iraqi territory."
She added, "Syrian women who are wives of Lebanese men can travel to Iraq accompanied by their Lebanese husbands, and the visa is granted at the border crossing in Iraq after presenting a proper Lebanese marriage contract, and the husband's or children's ID card matches her passport or ID card."
The embassy concluded its statement by saying: “The embassy can be contacted on the numbers (00963113341290), (00963113341299), and (00963113341298).”
