The State Administration Coalition discussed on Monday the dangerous developments taking place in the region and their repercussions on the country.
This came during his regular meeting hosted by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, in the presence of President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid and leaders of political blocs, according to a statement issued by al-Sudani's office and received by Shafaq News Agency.
The meeting affirmed the unity of the Iraqi position and the ranks of the political forces, and support for the firm and principled path adopted by the Iraqi government towards the Palestinian issue, and the historical right of our Palestinian people to their land, appreciating the efforts made by the Prime Minister in communicating with the leaders of the region and the world in order to find solutions.
The statement indicated that “the meeting discussed the ongoing repercussions resulting from the continued Zionist aggression against brotherly Lebanon, and renewed its condemnation of the heinous crime that led to the martyrdom of the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, the martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, his companions, and a large number of the Lebanese people.”
The meeting expressed its support and appreciation for the relief efforts provided by Iraq to Lebanon, under various governmental and popular titles, confirming the directives of the supreme authority in this regard, calling for more solidarity, understanding and closing ranks to thwart the opportunity for anyone seeking to create a tense environment.
The meeting witnessed a review of international positions regarding the ongoing aggression, and the coalition held the international community most responsible for carrying out the humanitarian and moral duty to stop the ongoing brutal massacres, injustice and violation of sovereignty.
The meeting discussed the joint declaration between Iraq and the international coalition to fight ISIS, and the completion of the agreement to end the presence of this coalition on Iraqi soil by September 2025, and considered it an important step in completing the pillars of Iraqi sovereignty, especially in light of the defeat of ISIS remnants, the integration of the capabilities of our armed forces in all their branches, and their undertaking to protect Iraqi security, stability and sovereignty.
The coalition stressed the importance of deciding on the name of the Speaker of the House of Representatives as soon as possible, calling for the continuation of the efforts it has made in this regard, according to the statement.
