Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani directed, yesterday, Saturday, to respond quickly to corruption cases and implement legal judicial decisions within 24 hours, stressing that some of the reports aim to disrupt and confuse the work of the Integrity Commission and delay projects. A statement from his office stated that "the Prime Minister visited the headquarters of the Integrity Commission," noting that "Al-Sudani chaired a meeting in which he referred to what the Integrity Commission represents as an essential tool in implementing the government program and what relates to the priority of combating corruption, appreciating the distinguished efforts of the Commission's employees, which instilled hope among the general public that there is a real will to combat financial and administrative corruption."
He added that "the Prime Minister addressed the issue of the theft of tax deposits, which represents a black spot in the history of the state; due to the nature and size of the stolen funds and under official cover, in collusion with state employees, and half of these funds were smuggled out of the country, stressing the continuation of efforts to recover them."
Al-Sudani explained, according to the statement, that “the work of the Commission is clearly different from the previous stage,” stressing “the need to continue with the same professional path in work, especially since public opinion was concerned about selectivity in combating corruption and the political nature in opening files, as happened in the Committee of Diwani Order 29, which no longer exists, as work is being carried out today in accordance with the law and in cooperation with the executive and judicial authorities.”
He stressed “the need to quickly address any defect that appears from integrity employees, and to reject any employee exploiting his position, especially if he is tasked with monitoring and protecting integrity,” stressing that he “communicates daily with the Integrity Commission and its head for follow-up and guidance.”
The Prime Minister directed all officers and commanders to “submit a statement of their financial assets, and directed all departments to continue setting and updating the standards for dealing with bribery by surveying citizens’ opinions. He also directed to submit a periodic position on the ministries’ procedures on the issue of integrity and to quickly respond to the issue of
    the reports received.”
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister confirmed, yesterday, Saturday, that the government has adopted an economic approach in opening up to productive partnerships and developing the investment environment in Iraq.
Another statement stated that "the Prime Minister received a delegation from the Chinese CETC Group, which specializes in energy,
    construction technology and infrastructure."
Al-Sudani pointed out that "the government's economic approach in opening up to productive partnerships and developing the investment environment in Iraq, in a way that suits international companies, attracts investments and enhances partnership with the Iraqi private sector, and provides
    supportive sovereign guarantees."
For his part, the delegation of the Chinese group expressed "its desire to participate in the infrastructure sector in Iraq, and contribute to development and economic projects, in a way that expands the scope of cooperation with the Iraqi private and public sectors, and within various economic and investment fields." In addition, the Prime
Minister received a group of writers, artists and playwrights concerned with literature and arts related to childhood, on the occasion of
    Iraqi Children's Day.[/size]
