    Shafaq
News / The governor of Maysan , Ali Douai Lazem announced on Thursday,
obtaining the initial approval of the Minister of Oil to exploit a part
of the lands in Ummara oil field to establish Maysan International
    Airport.

This came during a meeting between Maysans’ governor
with the Oil Minister, Abdul Karim al-Laeebe during his visit to Maysan,
which was attended by a number of local officials.

    ” reviewing
and discussing a number of important issues took place during the
meeting, especially the compensation issue of farmers affected by the
operations of the developing the oil fields in the licensing round,” the
governor of Maysan said in a statement transmitted by the media
    received by "Shafaq News".

He noted that Maysan province has
obtained all official approvals from ministries and relevant parties to
establish Maysan International Airport with the exception of the
approval of the Ministry of Oil because a part of the lands affiliated
to the airport is located within the boundaries of Ummara oil field.
