Parliamentary Legal Committee justified its request to postpone the vote on the draft general amnesty law to a meeting on Thursday to a misreading of the House of Representatives of some of the provisions contained therein.
He said committee member Mahmoud al-Hassan said "the reason for the repeated delay in the vote on the draft general amnesty law dates back to the misconception of some legal texts, and the belief of some deputies to pass the provisions of the law itself drafting / before the inclusion of the amendments / will lead to impunity for criminals and terrorists from punishment, and this is not true." .
He added that "In order to provide an opportunity for members of the House of Representatives to understand the fact that legal texts and confidence not to their ability to lead to impunity for dangerous criminals and hardened terrorists from punishment, the Legal Committee of Parliament asked for the delay to the hearing on Thursday to mature the final wording."
And on the dispute on the text of Article 8 of the bill, said al-Hassan, said that "this text is the text of a purely procedural, given the right to a judicial authority to take a decision in this matter and its implementation."
On the objection of the Integrity Commission the text of Article IV of the bill, said he "has fully addressed because of all the financial and administrative corruption crimes not covered by the general amnesty under any circumstances, as Chddna Baqhobadtha."
The House of Representatives postponed a vote on the draft general amnesty law at the request of the Legal Committee to the session on Thursday after the National Alliance rejected the list of recent amendments
