Last night after appearing in his eight game since being recalled from the AHL, Ondrej Pavelec posted a .888 save percentage before he left the game due to a lower body injury and a 3-1 Wild lead.

It was enough to have Twitter going bonkers with jokes, shots and more. But franklyis it really enough to end this move of complete desperation in terms of Jets goalies. Even in the between periods segment of Lawless and Order, featuring Gary Lawless of TSN, the guest with Dennis Beak was direct and pointed in his opinion of Jet GM Kevin Cheveldayoff needing to address the goalie issue. While Lawless has a reputation as being a direct and even hard-nosed questioner of players this move towards management seemed a slight departure of the TSN style. It was refreshing to see from the broadcast partner.

The problem is that it's the truth. What the Jets have now is no longer a problem, it's a crisis that currently sees no end. In Boston, right or wrong the goaltending cost a good coach his job, it may have been the same in St. Louis to some degree. In Winnipeg, nothing...at least so far.

But lets ask some questions based on what the management and coaches have said or done.

Remember when Paul Maurice said you could not evaluate a goalie until you got the defence system correct?

Remember when Kevin Cheveldayoff said that Pavelec was 'coming into his own' at age 27-28?

Not only has Pavelec not improved he's found a way to get worse. Is that because the defence system is a mess, the one that Maurice said needed to be fixed? If it's broken then deal with it, again. What about the goalie coach, Wade Flaherty, a True North loyalist- both ways? If he has had six years to make Pavelec and two to work with Hellebuyck why is there no improvement? What has he done to install faith in his ability to improve the goaltending?

Now there is the accountability part too. Apparently there's accountablity for Laine and Ehlers when the young guys aren't doing things right but what about the others? Well earlier in the season both Perreault and Stafford found time on the bottom line when their play was not up to par- what about Byfuglien though?

Buff is the highest paid player on the Jets, where's an 'A' and takes some of the dumbest penalties on the team as he did again last night. IF you missed it he pushed a stray stick on the ice towards the Wild player with the puck, the result a penalty shot. Buff played 31 minutes which is 7 more than Trouba who has shown to be the best Jets player right now. Laine, who played only 12:58, was benched because he made a bad play on the boards resulting in Pominville getting the puck and scoring.

Did you see that timely save on Pominville's shot? Neither did I so I guess without timely saves by goalies this team is a mess? Where's the accountability by anyone?

Doug Armstrong made a comment yesterday when he said 'too many of his players where playing like independent contractors'. Doug, can you come up to Winnipeg please we love unions here.

That's the Jets to a tee and guess what, even though the Blues had a coaching plan in place they saw the reason to act early and address the problem. Apparently if you are a veteran or paid well in Winnipeg you don't have to be held to account like others. For all the mistakes, the gaffes and lord know what else Pavelec has made, where has he been held accountable by the coach?

Oh yes there is a great bubbling bit of trouble here in Winnipeg. Many still believe in the team but every day more and more are not trusting the process or those leading it.

This was by far the tweet of the night and kind of sums up the process and leadership. There will always be explanations, justifications and the inevitable solutions but when you believe you are justified in your ways don't expect them to ever change.
