" In a related development , the UN mission in Iraq , condemned the armed attack on the Independent Electoral Commission 's office in Basra province on Sunday. A statement by the UN mission, I got (range) a copy of it on Monday, " The UNAMI condemns the attack in the early morning of the first Sunday, targeting the Electoral Commission Office of the elections in Basra, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on the office."

    In a related context, the election commission confirmed, yesterday, the United Nations support for its work. 
    A statement by the Commission, received (range), a copy of it yesterday, that " the meeting took place, on Monday, the representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Iraq , Jan Kubis , " with the election commission, noting that " the United Nations has confirmed its continued support for the Board of Commissioners and staff of the Electoral Commission ".
