    Interior Ministry spokesman Sa'd Maan on Saturday denied reports by local media about the marriage of Sudanese expatriates in Iraq to an Iraqi woman to obtain residency or deportation.
    "What local media reported on reports that the Interior Ministry imposed on Sudanese citizens coming to Iraq to marry an Iraqi woman for residency is not true," Maan said in a statement.
    Maan added that "the instructions of the Ministry of the Interior on the Nationality and Residency Law for foreign expatriates stipulates that the expatriate must be an investment, a contract of employment, study or be married."
    He explained that "the subject of residence first in an incorrect manner and the subject of the imposition of marriage on the Sudanese Iraqi women have no health at all."
    Earlier, local media published a report on Sudanese in Muthanna province who reported that their presence had become dependent on their marriage to an Iraqi woman under the terms of the Ministry of the Interior.

    BAGHDAD, March 26 (Xinhua) - The Ministry of the Interior has denied "marrying" an Iraqi woman to the Arab population for residency in Iraq, pointing out that there are four conditions for residency, including non-Iraqi work in one of the ministries of the state or the private sector.
