    Today, Friday, Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri revealed an international proposal to regulate content on social media sites and govern artificial intelligence.
    Al-Yasiri said in an interview followed by “Al-Ma’louma” that “Iraq has extensive participation in most of the conferences held by international organizations, and it plays an active role in these conferences,” noting that “its participation in the International Telecommunication Union conference during the past days included two parts: the first in what It is related to digital transformation, and the second part is artificial intelligence.”
    She added that she "demonstrated during the conference that Iraq has no significant problem related to digital transformation, because Iraq has more than a 103% mobile subscription rate, has three (4G) licenses, and there is a fourth connection opportunity with fifth generation technology, and has 4 million wireless subscribers." And 3.5 million fiber optics (Fiber Tohom),” pointing out that “Iraq is moving greatly towards digital transformation, and there is an international problem related to the content, and there is no coordination and cooperation from the companies that own these unethical applications that affect the cultures and ethics of the people, so I presented Proposing that the International Telecommunication Union undertake the issue of setting binding standards for social media companies that are appropriate and respect the cultures and religions of different peoples.
