    Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani raised the ceiling for evaluating officials and placed “data protection” as a condition for their success in performing their duties, while informing the ministers that electronic development is accelerating in moments, not days, and Iraq must keep pace with it.
    Al-Sudani’s office said in a statement received by Mail, “Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani opened, today, Saturday, the digital data center in the Ministry of Interior and the traffic sign manufacturing plant in the center of the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of the Ministers of Interior, Planning, Communications, and Higher Education.” Labor and Social Affairs, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank, and a number of government and security officials.
    He added, "In his speech during the opening, Al-Sudani blessed the completion of this project, appreciating the efforts of the employees of the Ministry of Interior and the Iraqi implementing company. He pointed out the importance of the digital data center in preserving and circulating data, and that the ministry has made important strides in providing electronic service to citizens, starting with the passport and visa. Enter, and today this is the center that specializes in collecting data.”
    Al-Sudani explained that “the Ministry of Interior, in addition to its security title, is a service ministry and in direct contact with the citizen,” stressing “the importance of data sharing between departments and institutions, and that the readiness of information will raise the level of performance of the Ministry of Interior in the field of tracking crime.”
    According to the statement, “The importance of the digital data center comes in line with the directives of the Prime Minister to ensure data security and sharing, and to rely on automation and digital transformation in providing services to citizens, and it is one of the outcomes of the electronic passport, electronic visa, and electronic portals project contract concluded with the Police Martyrs Fund.” It will serve the Ministry of Interior and all its formations, such as the electronic passport, electronic visa, national card, vehicle registration system, driving licenses, criminal evidence, identity directorate, and others, and it can also support ministries and the private sector in hosting or backing up data to serve the public interest.
    The statement continued, "The center accommodates (200) digital data cabins, accommodates future development and expansion for the next (20) years, and was built to high specifications, as it can continue to operate for (30) days in the event of a complete national power outage."
    Al-Sudani gave a speech in which he said, “Our government is a service government, and when service is achieved quickly and easily and we obtain the satisfaction of the citizen, then we have achieved our goal,” stressing that “speed is required, and accuracy and security of information are required.”
    Al-Sudani added: “We held a meeting of the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation, and we stressed the importance of not dispersing efforts through the large number of committees, and the more the data is unified and within a clear state policy, the more it is possible to develop performance and maintain the level of service,” pointing out that “our directives are to deal with all What is issued by the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation constitutes a work plan that must be implemented.”
    Al-Sudani stated that “the process of preserving information today is not limited to fortified rooms, as much as it depends on a cybersecurity system to maintain information security,” noting that “electronic development is accelerating in moments and not in days or years, and it is imperative for us to keep up with this acceleration.”
    He continued: “We confirm our directives to all ministries and departments, that the official’s evaluation depends on his ability to think to develop work and protect data,” stressing also “the importance of sharing data with other ministries and institutions, and providing it to the Ministry of Planning, the Central Bank, and the Social Protection Network.”
    He added, "We have exceeded 38.188 million unified cards, and this information is important to provide to the rest of the ministries and institutions."
    He concluded his speech by saying, "Sharing information enables us to deal with crime with quick measures, and the readiness of information will increase performance in tracking down criminals."
