    Information / Baghdad
Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, expressed today, Saturday, the House of Representatives’ readiness to provide full support to the Iraqi representation to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
A statement from the office of the Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, received by Al-Maalomah, said: “Al-Mandalawi received Iraq’s permanent representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Asaad Turki Sawari, and Al-Mandalawi stressed the importance of cooperating with the relevant authorities to introduce Iraqi culture and heritage and prepare a comprehensive list of all Islamic monuments, monuments and shrines in the country with the aim of highlighting them in UNESCO and before the international community, in a manner commensurate with the country’s cultural status, and striving to include many of them on the World Human Heritage List.”
According to the statement, Al-Mandalawi expressed “the legislative authority’s keenness to provide the necessary support for the success of the mission’s mission in strengthening Iraq’s international status in UNESCO, as well as continuous coordination with the relevant parliamentary committees, which contributes to revitalizing the specific cultural programs managed by the Iraqi mission.” End 25
