    {Politics: Al-Furat News} The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, discussed, today, Thursday, at Baghdad Palace, with a delegation from the heads of the Kurdistan blocs in the House of Representatives the general developments taking place in the country, stressing “the importance of working with all political forces and parties in order to establish security and stability in country, and improve the living conditions of citizens.
    Rashid also indicated during the meeting, according to a presidential statement, a copy of which was received by {Al-Furat News}, “the improvement of relations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, stressing that the Presidency of the Republic will continue to support efforts to resolve issues and overcome challenges.”
    He stressed the importance of the oversight role of the House of Representatives and members of the parliamentary blocs in approving draft laws that serve citizens, noting that the Presidency of the Republic submitted many draft laws to the House of Representatives for the purpose of approval, including the draft law of the Supreme Authority for the Empowerment of Women, the draft law of the Supreme Council for Water, and the draft law The first amendment to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the Iraq Prize for Creativity draft law, the draft law on the allocation of residential lands, the draft law of the Federal Council, the draft law on the recovery of proceeds of corruption, in addition to several draft laws to cancel the decisions of the dissolved Revolutionary Command Council.
    Rashid confirmed that the Presidency of the Republic had received many complaints from families of detainees demanding their release, indicating that based on the role of the Presidency of the Republic, a committee was formed that included the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministries of Justice and Interior, and the National Security Advisory. The committee worked seriously to verify the cases of prisoners, detainees, and detainees, and it was completed. So far, approximately (12,000) twelve thousand detainees whose sentences have expired or against whom no judicial rulings have been issued have been released.
    The meeting also discussed the file of the United Nations mission in the country and Iraq's request to end its mission.
    In turn, the delegation of the heads of the Kurdistan blocs in the House of Representatives appreciated the efforts of His Excellency the President of the Republic in following up on citizens’ issues and affairs, supporting the consolidation of security and stability in the country, and improving the living and service conditions of Iraqis.
