    The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Friday expressed its concern about the escalation in Syria, pointing out the need to unify efforts to eliminate the organization of Dahedh and terrorist organizations.
    "The Iraqi Foreign Ministry confirms Iraq's firm and unequivocal position in condemning and denouncing the terrible crime of using chemical weapons in Syria and considers it a very serious escalation," the ministry said in a statement.
    "We declare our solidarity with the victims of this heinous crime committed by the brotherly Syrian people, which reminds us of the suffering of our dear Iraqi people as a result of the use of such lethal weapons by the Baathist regime," the statement said. "We affirm our strong support and support for any effort exerted by society. The international community to punish those who use it, reiterating our call for an urgent and thorough international investigation to determine who has used it in Syria and to punish it and take all measures to prevent its use again. "
    The statement added that "the ministry expresses at the same time our concern about the seriousness of the escalation in the ongoing conflict on Syrian territory without agreeing on a comprehensive plan to end it," adding, "while emphasizing the need to unite efforts to eliminate the organization and other terrorist organizations and finalize their existence Protection for the brotherly people of Syria and the people of the world. "
    The statement added that "the interventions and urgent measures may adversely affect the efforts to confront terrorism, especially that our people made great sacrifices to cut its roots and reached the final stages of elimination in Iraq."
