    Member of the House of Representatives, Raed Al-Maliki, today, Friday, stressed the need to expedite the decision of the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, while noting that the final decision is in the hands of the state administration coalition.

    Al-Maliki said in an interview with Al-Sumaria News, “The independent representatives and emerging blocs are with the demand to speed up the selection of a speaker for the [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/entity/1488748421/%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%84%D8%B3 %D8%A7%D9%84%D9%86%D9%88%D8%A7%D8%A8 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%82%D9%8A/ar/]Iraqi Council of Representatives[/url] as it is an important matter,” stressing the necessity of “the need to complete the structure of work and management in the House of Representatives, which is completed by the presence of a Speaker of the Council.”


    He added, "The final and decisive decision regarding the candidates for the position is in the hands of the large blocs, specifically the [url=https://www.alsumaria.tv/entity/3054738443/%D8%AA%D8%AD%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%81 %D8%A5%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B1%D8%A9 %D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84%D8%A9/ar/]State Administration Alliance[/url] and its basic components," pointing out, "We support the candidate who pledges to strengthen the work of the House of Representatives and not make it subordinate to the government."
    He stated, "The next legislative term will witness the intensification of the government's activities and oversight work after it became clear which files it failed in," pointing out that "there are great indicators of the government's work and we need support within the House of Representatives."
    He stated, "Any president who assumes the presidency of the House of Representatives and supports our position and our right to conduct interrogations and parliamentary questions and perform oversight work and preserves the independence of the House and not be subservient to the government and limit its role are among the matters present in our approach and position toward the next president."
    He continued, "We will set these conditions clearly and explicitly in the next stage and educate the opinion of other representatives on them."
