The Parliamentary Culture and Information Committee on Friday praised the victories achieved by the heroic military forces and the popular popular fighting in Nineveh province, especially the recent victory in liberating the urban district from the clutches of terrorism and barbaric organizations.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the committee called on "the heroic forces present and the Nineveh Antiquities Commission to protect archaeological sites from theft and smuggling and not to move the rubble in good faith for the purpose of cleaning the site."
It also called on the Inspectorate to "assess the extent of the damage, clear it and make plans for reconstruction."
