    Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri said on Tuesday that terrorist gangs are living in their final days on Iraqi soil and that preparations must be made for a post-conflict period.
    "The Speaker of the House of Representatives Salim al-Jubouri received, today, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker," a statement from his office said.
    "During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, the developments in the security and political situation in Iraq and the region, and the importance of continued joint cooperation between Iraq and the international community in the war against terrorism," he said.
    The speaker stressed that "this is a time to live up to its last days on the ground in Iraq, and we must prepare for a post-urgent phase." He added that "this stage should include the return of displaced people, reconstruction of their areas, .
    He also stressed the importance of continued international support for the efforts aimed at achieving the project of community reconciliation, while appreciating the role of Britain in the international coalition in supporting Iraq during its war against terrorism as well as its great efforts on humanitarian and relief levels.
    For his part, the British ambassador expressed "his country's interest in continuing support for Iraq in its war against terrorism and in the relief of displaced people," stressing the importance of continuing to strengthen relations between the two countries and develop them in a way that serves the two friendly peoples.
