Electoral Commission: We are not responsible for implementing the referendum of the province
BAGHDAD - The Federal Electoral Commission announced that it is not a party to the referendum on the region for self-determination and is not responsible for it, pointing out that the Kurdistan Region has its own board of commissioners.
The UNHCR said in a statement that "through our follow-up in some social networking sites, it became clear to us there is confusion in the area that is conducting a referendum on the Kurdistan region to be held on September 25 of this year as some believe that the Electoral Commission for the elections is to conduct this referendum in the region" .
"So we would like to clarify a very important matter that the procedure is the Independent High Electoral Commission and the referendum in the province of Kurdistan and the problem under law No. 4 legislator by the Parliament of the Kurdistan Region .. The Independent Electoral Commission (Federal) is not a party and Responsible for him. "
