360 historical sites destroyed in Nineveh

Nineveh/ Iraq TradeLink: Nineveh Antiquities Department announced that about 360 historical sites were destroyed in the province following the control of Da'ish (ISIS) organization in 2014.
The sources pointed that the main destroyed sites were 300 mosques and holy shrines, as well as a number of churches.
The Greater Mosque, Hadba' Minaret, Prophet Younus (Jonah) holy
shrine, Mar Elian Monastery and Hatra city were among the destroyed sites.
Observers believe that the destruction of the sites was to cover antiquities smuggling practiced by Da'ish organization .
