[rtl]Tasnim News Agency said that after the peak demand for electricity consumption in Iran returned to less than 60,000 megawatts last day, the multi-degree rise in temperatures on the first day of June predicted a jump of more than 5,000 megawatts in electricity consumption.[/rtl]
[rtl]This comes despite the fact that the region has not yet entered the peak summer period. In addition, forecasts from international organizations indicate that 2024 will be the hottest year in the world.[/rtl]
[rtl]So, Iran, which is located in the hot and dry part of the planet, must have entered the hot season earlier.[/rtl]
[rtl]Yesterday, the CEO of the Iranian Electricity Company said that the consumption of air conditioners in Iran is equivalent to the electricity consumption of a country with a population of 120 million people, noting that the marketing ban on gas air conditioners is in effect in 80% of the country’s regions.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to a spokesman for the electricity industry, part of the growth in non-traditional electricity consumption is due to emerging phenomena such as illegal currency mining or the use of gas air conditioners in ordinary areas.[/rtl]
[rtl]Earlier, Iran's Deputy Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs said that thanks to the measures and plans that have been taken, the country will not witness power outages this year.[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding the size of the electricity deficit in Iran, that official stated that “the electricity deficit of 20,000 megawatts that was announced is incorrect,” and added: It is not possible to give an accurate number, because the electricity deficit depends on consumption management.[/rtl]
[rtl]A few days ago, the Iranian electricity production spokesman confirmed that the stability of the country's electricity network during the next seven years requires an investment of 116 trillion tomans.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iranian electricity production spokesman called on maintenance and repair companies for the electrical transmission network to plan for the requirements and needs of this sector and exchange opinions and technical expertise with the aim of creating a vital organization in this arena.[/rtl]
[rtl]A professor at Sharif University of Technology had warned that by 2025, Iran would lose the equivalent of a “stage” of the South Pars field (North Gas Field) annually, noting that gas constitutes fuel for 92% of the country’s total electricity production, and the gas shortage undoubtedly means Shortage in electricity supply.[/rtl]
[rtl]Last year, 2023, the Iranian Electricity Network Administration said that the demand for electricity consumption in the country exceeded 51 thousand megawatts.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iranian electricity industry needs to produce about 5,000 megawatts of electricity and develop electricity transmission and distribution, which means $5 billion in investment annually.[/rtl]
[rtl]A member of the Iranian Parliament's Civil Committee previously considered that water and gas consumption in the country exceeded international standards, and said that we must speak honestly and transparently with citizens so that it becomes clear to them that the country's energy resources are running out, and in dire need of concerted and combined efforts by everyone to preserve them.[/rtl]
