Political disagreements hinder the implementation of the decisions of the Anbar Provincial Council voted on

Months after the formation of the local government in Anbar, the council did not achieve the service and economic aspirations of citizens, due to political differences that contributed to obstructing the implementation of most of the decisions that were voted on within the council.
Political affairs researcher, Muhannad Al-Rawi, said during an interview with Al-Mada, “The decisions of the Anbar Provincial Council must be implemented in a timely manner to serve the citizens of the governorate, but there appears to be laxity in implementing the council’s decisions.”
He added, “There is a disagreement between the legislative and executive governments regarding the decisions of the Provincial Council,” pointing out that “this indicates the weakness of the council’s decisions and management.”
He continues, “Failing to implement the decisions voted on in the Council is a violation of the law.”
For his part, the political analyst, Abdullah Al-Dhaban, explains during an interview with (Al-Mada), that “since the formation of the local government in Anbar, which has passed for more than a hundred days, the Anbari citizen has not sought any real achievement,” noting that “local government officials are looking for (The trend) is field tours and photos.”
He added, “The activities of the Anbar government are limited to visits only, without real results that contribute to developing the service and economic reality of the governorate.”
Al-Dhaban explains, “There are disagreements and inconsistencies between the council presidency and the governor, which prevent them from carrying out the duties entrusted to them,” indicating that “they bear the bulk of the failures that occur in the governorate, as they are the only party (Taqaddum Party) in control there.”
In addition, Anbari citizen Omar Al-Fahd said, during an interview with (Al-Mada), that “there are many service projects that were initiated and not fully completed,” noting that “the service reality before the elections was merely electoral propaganda for the political parties in the governorate.”
He added, “Various service projects began before the elections and stopped after them for political reasons,” pointing out that “the local government has many words and few actions.”
Earlier, the Anbar Governorate Council voted on the decision to ban granting any licenses to open stores selling alcoholic beverages, and a special committee was formed to study the current situation, to close previously existing stores. However, the decision has not yet been included in the list of decisions implemented by the Council.
According to a statement by the Anbar Provincial Council, “The Council voted to cancel the granting of investment licenses to the Eighth Brigade due to the dispossession rights of citizens in part of the land that have not yet been decided,” pointing to “the presence of suspicions of corruption and the lack of study and designs for the infrastructure and required services.”
It is noteworthy that the Anbar Governorate Council witnessed political disagreements at the beginning of its formation, which prompted the former governor of Anbar, Ali Farhan Al-Dulaimi, to form an opposition (stability) bloc within the council, until the disagreements developed and increased in severity, and included members of the Progress Bloc among themselves, which contributed to obstructing the implementation of many Decisions voted on by the Council during its last sessions.
