Demands for legislating the capital law

The Parliamentary Services Committee stressed the necessity of legislating the capital law because of its importance, criticizing the presence of a number of broken laws within Parliament.
Committee member, Mahma Khalil, said in an interview with “Al-Sabah”: “The Services Committee is the mother of the committees and is supposed to legislate a set of laws that serve citizens, especially since there are demands to legislate the Capital Law, the Baghdad Municipality Law, the Law of Disengagement between the Secretariat and the Governorate, and the Bypass Law.” And the Public Roads Law, all of which are important laws pending in the House of Representatives.”
He added, "The committee called on the government to send more laws in order to legislate them, but there is a failure in the supervisory role and the legislative role," noting that "the slum law is important and has been suspended for four parliamentary sessions, and in each session during electoral propaganda there are promises to legislate it, but there is no road map." It is clear in its legislation, and unfortunately we were surprised that the law was withdrawn by the government in order to make amendments, but it has not been returned until now.”
