    The Parliamentary Electricity and Energy Committee confirmed today, Sunday, its intention to host the Minister of Electricity and the senior staff in the ministry after the current legislative term, to find out what the volume of electrical production has reached in Iraq and the mechanisms used to control consumption, in conjunction with the deterioration of equipment that most have begun to complain about.     He explained, "The minister responded that the production in 2023 reached 26 thousand megawatts and the processing hours reached 15 hours. About the current year, the minister said that production is expected to reach 28 thousand megawatts, but the processing hours will remain 15 hours despite the increase in production."

    Regarding the explanation of this problem, Al-Marid explained that the main reason for the inability to achieve progress in electrical equipment despite the annual increase in production is due to the “rapidly rising, uncontrolled and uncontrolled” consumption.
