Prime Minister: Digital transformation is a platform of action

Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani said that the government’s directives are that dealing with digital transformation should be a work plan that must be implemented.
This came during the Prime Minister’s opening, yesterday, Saturday, of the digital data center in the Ministry of Interior and the traffic sign manufacturing plant in the center of the capital, Baghdad, in the presence of ministers and government and security officials. Al-Sudani, in his speech during the opening, blessed the completion of this project, appreciating “the efforts of workers in the Ministry of Interior.” Interior Ministry and the Iraqi implementing company.
Al-Sudani pointed out, according to a statement from his media office, “the importance of the digital data center in preserving and circulating data, and that the ministry has made important strides in providing electronic service to citizens, starting with the passport and entry visa, and today this center specializes in collecting data.”
He explained that "the Ministry of Interior, in addition to its security title, is a service ministry and in direct contact with the citizen," stressing "the importance of sharing data between departments and institutions, and that the readiness of information will raise the level of performance of the Ministry of Interior in the field of tracking crime."
He said: “Our government is a government of service, and when the service is achieved quickly and easily and we obtain the satisfaction of the citizen, then we have achieved our goal,” pointing to “the importance of the required speed, accuracy, and security of information.”
He stressed that "our directives are that dealing with everything issued by the Supreme Committee for Digital Transformation should be considered a work plan that must be implemented, and that the process of preserving information today is not limited to strong rooms, as much as it depends on a cybersecurity system to maintain the security of information."
The digital data center is one of the products of the contract for the electronic passport, electronic visa, and electronic gates project concluded with the Police Martyrs Fund. The center has a capacity of (200) digital data cabins, and accommodates future development and expansion for the next (20) years. It was built with high specifications, so it can continue to operate. For a period of (30) days in the event of a complete national power outage.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Prime Minister opened the traffic plate manufacturing factory, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, in the center of the capital, Baghdad.
Al-Sudani was briefed on the sections of the factory and the stages of manufacturing the traffic plates, which will be of high specifications and allow the vehicle owner to drive outside Iraq. He stressed “the importance of this project, in the radical solution to the problem of traffic plates that has existed for years.”
It is worth mentioning that the first production line of the factory was installed last March and is ready for production, and the investing company is committed to the arrival of the rest of the production lines during the coming period, for the purpose of producing the square model of plates, and producing bicycle plates, and one production line produces about (2000) One plate per hour, at a rate of (16) thousand plates during one work shift, and the factory can produce (3) types of plates of different sizes.
The Minister of Interior, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari, announced the start of replacing car plates starting today, Sunday.
