    BAGHDAD - 
    The Ministry of Commerce issued a clarification Monday on its contract with a number of American companies to import wheat, indicating that "the contract with the company" Carc "was a decision of the Council of Ministers to secure foreign wheat in accordance with the instructions and controls for government contracts. 
    "It is not surprising that" the owners of intermediary companies move through their corrupt arms to block any success achieved by the ministry to achieve food security and provide the ration card items of global originals and in quantities obtained for the first time not long ago, "the ministry said in a statement. 
    "The contracts signed by the Central Contracting Committee were with the company of 300 thousand tons of US grain and also with the American company ADM and the amount of 150 thousand tons and another contract in the amount of 50 thousand tons to another company to total contracts 500 thousand tons."
    He pointed out that "this quantity is of great importance in securing a good strategic storage of wheat and also contribute in securing the processing of flour for the coming month and fill the requirements of the ration card for all the provinces of the country." 
    The statement added that "the new contracts in wheat and accepted with national originators to supply large quantities of sugar and oil are a major achievement and a decisive turning point in the work of the ministry to ensure good quality of food vocabulary." 
    "This is happening for the first time in recent years and has achieved a high flow in the processing of those words touched by the Iraqi citizen in all regions of the country, which began to receive good quantities of food.
    The statement said that the new attack against the ministry as a result of these contracts was caused by traders and brokers hit their interests and moved the arms of corruption to suffer from the great efforts that were made to sign contracts that got high professionalism and according to the approved controls.
