[rtl]Basra / NINA / Former Basra MP Khalaf Abdul Samad confirmed that the failure of census employees to reach many homes in different parts of Basra raises doubts about the ability of the organizing authorities to show realistic results about the population census in the province.
Abdul Samad said according to a statement: Many are wondering about the benefit of imposing a curfew at a time when census employees did not reach large areas of the province during the two days of the curfew, despite the fact that the phone numbers designated to deal with citizens' complaints about the population census were closed all the time, noting that this prevented the arrival of many complaints and observations recorded by citizens on the population census, which makes us doubt its results and consequences.
He added: The negative media and psychological climate surrounding the census atmosphere in the central and southern regions affected the level of cooperation of some classes with the census teams, and that part of the psychological atmosphere was caused by government agencies.
He explained: There is a real fear that the number of Basra residents counted by the census is much less than the real number, which negatively affects the entitlement of the largest component and Basra's entitlement at the level of development plans, political representation, and other things.
