The Ministry of Planning confirmed, on Thursday, that all buildings are counted in the population census without regard to the type of property, while indicating that slums are counted as a reality in the population census.
The head of the Ministry's Statistics and Geographic Information Systems Authority, Makki Ghazi Al-Muhammadi, said, "The slums in the population census operations are considered a reality, and we deal with them based on their current situation," according to the official agency.
Al-Muhammadi added, "The Ministry of Planning is not responsible for investigating the type of property, as all buildings are counted regardless of their classification, whether agricultural, urban or random."
