    The head of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Girasimov, disclosed on Tuesday the existence of cases in which Europe and the United States supported armed groups in Syria. 

    "There are cases where special forces officers from Western Europe and the United States in the Middle East led illegal armed groups in Syria," Gerasimov said at a meeting of the Russian Defense Ministry's leading body. 

    "The main powers of Da'ash in Syria have been broken, and little remains to be defeated definitively, and the transition to a political settlement is being implemented," he said. C
