    An Israeli military leader met Thursday with a Saudi news site to feed on an imminent alliance between Tel Aviv and Riyadh to wage a war against Tehran, but experts doubt Israel's readiness for such a war.
    Iran, as a regional power increasingly influential in the region, is a common enemy of the kingdom and of Israel, which have no diplomatic relations.
    Against the background of the historical rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia, tensions have increased sharply in recent years against the backdrop of regional wars, the resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the intercepting of a rocket launched by the Houthis from Yemeni territory towards Riyadh.
