Johnson was speaking at a conference in the Italian capital Rome, last week, when he said that Saudi Arabia and Iran are tapping the lack of leadership in the region, "and Charcan in conflict management using driven Kaerais) figures.
It is known that both countries support the warring parties in Yemen and Syria.
Johnson said in a video published by the British newspaper The Guardian, "There are politicians who exploit religion and ethnic groups that belong to them ideologically to achieve their political ambitions."
He continued, "This is one of the biggest political problems in the entire region, and a tragedy for me, with respect to the reasons for the existence of such proxy wars all the time, lies in the absence of strong leadership enough in those same countries."
He explained that the Middle East lacks the "big personalities able to overcome the affiliation of Sunni Islam or Shia and bring people together."
