    [rtl]Al-Hayat newspaper reported Sunday that Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi intends to submit a request to the Federal Court to issue a decision on the date of the elections, while noting that the court will issue a decision to consider postponement of the elections as "unconstitutional."[/rtl]
    [rtl]The newspaper quoted political sources as saying that "Prime Minister Haider Abadi, who refuses to postpone the date of elections and demands the parliament to approve the date set by his government, the next May 12, intends to submit a request to the Federal Court to issue a constitutional advisory on postponement of the elections.[/rtl]
    [rtl]"The court will issue a decision that considers the postponement unconstitutional, which proves the date set by Abadi to conduct the electoral process," she said.[/rtl]
    [rtl]Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, on November 17, 2017, stressed the government's keenness to hold the elections on time, as a constitutional entitlement.[/rtl]
