    Baghdad / Sky Press

On Thursday, the UN High Electoral Commission (IHEC) reported the formation of new alliances on the last day of the Commission, pointing to the presence of civilian figures in the list of Shiite leader Moqtada al-Sadr, and the loss of the president of the coalition of state law as his important allies.

"The latest deadline to submit a map of political alliances to contest the mid-year elections in Iraq, ending on Thursday, while the Speaker of the Parliament, Salim al-Jubouri called the leaders of blocs and parties to a meeting early next week, to discuss the issuance of the election law and pass Budget of 2018 ".

The newspaper quoted "familiar" with the interviews conducted by Iraqi officials during the past two days that Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi sent clear messages that there is no intention to postpone the date of elections proposed by his government on May 12 next, despite the insistence of the Sunni and Kurdish forces to postpone at least 6 months " .

Observers expected "the rise of registered electoral alliances to about 30 alliances at the end of official working hours today," Hayat said in its report.

She pointed out that "according to the map of political positions announced, most of the political parties will run the elections either independent or within political alliances different from that of the 2014 elections."

She pointed out that "the coalition of state law, led by the head of the Dawa Party Nuri al-Maliki coalition, seems the most prominent, but lost, as information indicates, a large proportion of the parties, which in turn formed an alliance includes the Badr Organization and a number of popular mobilization forces.

She added that "will not be nominated bloc (Ahrar) of the leader Muqtada al-Sadr under that name, as Sadr supports an electoral alliance of civil forces in addition to some of the personalities close to him."

On the level of coalitions of Sunni forces, the newspaper said, "The information seemed conflicting yesterday on the possibility of the birth of a large electoral alliance, but some leaks indicate the uniqueness of Jubouri in a special electoral alliance corresponded to 3 strong alliances led by businessman Khamis Khanjar.

The newspaper predicted, according to the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mohammad Khurshid, "Kurdish parties are locked in the Iraqi parliamentary elections scattered in the cities of the Kurdistan region, and combined in an electoral alliance in the disputed areas."
