Netanyahu: Iran seeks to make Lebanon a base for launching rockets into Israel

face of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu , sharp criticism for Iran , accusing it of "seeking to transform Lebanon into a base to launch rockets into Israel ."
This came during a meeting between Netanyahu on Thursday, Russian Security Council President Nikolai Patrushev, who is visiting Tel Aviv accompanied by a high-level political delegation.
Netanyahu's office said in a press statement after the meeting that "the Prime Minister reviewed to the Russian official the various threats in the Middle East , primarily the attempts to position Iran in Syria and Tehran's efforts to turn Lebanon into a base to launch rockets against Israel."
The statement added that "the two sides discussed the procedures of security coordination and cooperation in the fight against global terrorism and the challenges posed by this terrorism to the countries of the world in the current period, in addition to the strengthening relations between Russia and Israel in various areas."
The Russian Security Council secretary arrived in Israel on Wednesday for bilateral security consultations and other issues related to common interests between the two countries.
