The Directorate of Water Resources in the province of Diyala on Friday filled the dam in the north of the province because of heavy rains.

Diyala's director, Muhannad al-Mamouri, said in a statement that the Al-Lund dam near Khanaqin district, 100 km north-east of Baquba, has reached 38 million cubic meters of water in full because of heavy rain.

He added: "The first of the dams of Diyala, which is filled with the beginning of heavy rain, stressing that" the fullness of the tide is a positive sign.
