On Wednesday, the Knesset passed the second and third readings of a bill that would grant the Israeli Interior Minister the authority to revoke the right of permanent residency of Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem in the event of attacks that violate Israel's security.
According to the official Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, "the project was approved by 64 members and 18 opposed by the law.
The head of the committee on international relations in the joint list of Arab parties, MP Yousef Jabarin, said in a statement that the Israeli Knesset is racist and fascist and that it targets Palestinian citizens in East Jerusalem.
Jabarin said that "this authoritarian law is part of the campaign of racist and fascist laws that the Netanyahu government is working to legislate to undermine the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and to perpetuate the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem and the deprivation of Palestinian rights."
