Allawi and Hakim emphasize the importance of the success of the elections

"Hakim discussed with Allawi the latest developments in the political situation and the upcoming elections, as well as stressing the importance of calm to conduct the elections in a competitive environment, away from political prejudice and exclusion," the statement said. "The two parties asked everyone to shoulder their responsibilities both to give the ideal picture of the democratic process and to cooperate to make the elections succeed in a way that reflects the maturity of the Iraqi democratic experience," the statement said. To this, the President of the National Alliance discussed with the members of the Council of the Independent High Electoral Commission for the upcoming election and electronic screening mechanism. According to a statement by the Office of the President of the Alliance, "the two sides discussed during the meeting the upcoming election and the mechanism of electronic screening as a distinct from the elections in 2018 than previous ones."
