    President Masoud Barzani considered the success of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections to be a success for the people of Kurdistan with all its components and political entities, expressing his hope that these elections and their results will inspire new hope and inaugurate a new phase that serves the interests of the entire people of Kurdistan.[/size]
    [size=45]In a statement on Sunday (October 20, 2024), President Barzani expressed his thanks for “the successful completion of the elections for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament, and the ability of the people of Kurdistan to cast their votes in an atmosphere full of freedom.”[/size]
    [size=45]He stressed that "the success of this operation is a success for the people of Kurdistan with all its components and political entities," directing "on this occasion, thanks and congratulations to the people of Kurdistan and the masses, cadres and supporters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as well as to all political parties."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that “from here, I see it necessary to praise the efforts of the Election Commission in Iraq and Kurdistan and all the concerned parties as well as the security forces, which together contributed to the successful conduct of the electoral process in the Kurdistan Region,” expressing his “hope that these elections and their results will inspire new hope and inaugurate a new phase that serves the interests of the entire people of Kurdistan.”[/size]
    [size=45]At exactly six o'clock, the general ballot boxes for the Kurdistan Region's parliamentary elections, which began this morning, Sunday, at seven o'clock in the morning, were closed.[/size]
    [size=45]The Election Commission announced that the turnout in the general vote in the Kurdistan Region elections reached 72%.[/size]
    [size=45]The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, congratulated the success of the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, noting that it is a new test of the principles of democracy, and thanking all those who contributed to this “success.”[/size]
    [size=45]In turn, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, congratulated the Kurdistan Region, its leadership and people, on the completion of the voting process for the electoral process for choosing members of the region’s parliament for its sixth session.[/size]

    [size=45]For his part, the head of the Azm Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai, congratulated the people and leadership of the Kurdistan Region on the occasion of the success of the sixth session of the parliamentary elections, noting in a tweet on the “X” website that the success reflects the great sacrifices made by the people of Kurdistan for the sake of the democratic option.[/size]
    [size=45]On this occasion, he praised the great role of the regional government and the High Elections Commission for the good organization, in addition to the prominent role of the political parties and activities through their active participation that contributed to the success of this democratic process, according to what was stated in the tweet.[/size]
    [size=45]It is noteworthy that the number of those eligible to vote in the Kurdistan Regional Parliament elections in the four districts is approximately 2.9 million voters, according to the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq.[/size]
