Iraq is in the process of signing a special agreement with Jordan on the border
Saad al-Hadithi spokesman for the Information Office of the Prime Minister, Haider Abadi, said Wednesday that Iraq is in the process of signing an agreement with Jordan to control the border after the end of the work of the technical committees concerned.
Al-Hadithi said in a press statement that "the decision consists of two parts: the first is the authorization of Defense Minister Irfan al-Hayali to sign the agreement, and the second is to instruct the Foreign Ministry to authorize the neighborhood to complete the agreement on security and intelligence along the border with Jordan."
On the date of signing the security agreement between the Iraqi and Jordanian sides, Al-Hadithi said that "this will take place after the technical committees concerned between the two sides complete the terms of the agreement."
The Iraqi Council of Ministers voted during its meeting last Tuesday to amend the resolution No. (11) for the year 2015, on the draft border control agreement and intelligence cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Iraq and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
