    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Washington may impose new sanctions against Russian businessmen before the end of this week for "interfering in the elections," senior US sources said on Thursday.

    US media have not mentioned the names of Russian citizens who may be subject to sanctions. "The sanctions may impose at least six Russian businessmen," the paper said.

    The White House and the US Treasury Department have so far refused to confirm this information.

    Last March, the United States imposed sanctions against 19 people and five Russian institutions. The list was drawn up under the US-sanctioned "Katsa" Act adopted in the summer of 2017.
