The International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) announced on Thursday that a number of its experts are on its way to Syria and will begin investigating the attack on nerve gas in the eastern Ghouta on Saturday.

The confirmation comes after Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, said that two teams from the organization will arrive in his country Thursday and Friday to investigate what happened in Duma, which was controlled by opposition fighters.
Jaafari was speaking before a closed session of the Security Council to discuss the threat of military action against Syria in response to the chemical attack.
Bolivia requested that the meeting be held after it supported Russia during a vote last Tuesday in the Council on draft resolutions relating to Syria.
