Spanish Prime Minister refuses to take the oath of the Bible
Socialist Pedro Sanchez was sworn in as the new president of the Spanish government.
Sanchez refused to take the oath on the Bible, calling for the removal of any crosses during the inauguration ceremony, according to the network "BBC".
The leader of the Spanish Socialists Sanchez became the first atheist in the history of Spain to serve as prime minister.
During his inauguration ceremony at the royal residence in Madrid, he vowed to carry out his duties under the guidance of honor and conscience and to remain loyal to the King and defend the Spanish Constitution.
The 46-year-old has replaced Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, who left office because of a corruption scandal.
