Joe Heigin resigned as White House chief of staff a week after the historic summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore, which played a key role in its organization.
The 62-year-old, who worked in four administrations - Ronald Reagan, George Bush Sr., George W. Bush and Donald Trump - will leave the White House to work in the private sector.
"He was a great value for my administration, he planned and carried out the longest overseas trips ever made by a president, and he did all that perfectly, we will miss him at the office and we will miss him more on the road," Trump said in a statement.
With this resignation, the veteran logistics expert joins a long list of presidential advisers who have moved away from Trump - whether of their own volition or decision - in the 17 months he spent until now the White House Republican billionaire.
